A new Beginning...

I know, I know... I am a little late to be posting my new years resolutions or plans or whatever. But as part of my new years plans/resolutions for 2009, I told myself that I would create an online poker blog that I will post in at least twice a week! So....I'm off to a rough start, but at least i'm starting right? right.

Mainly the purpose of this blog is going to be to track my progress thoughout the year of 2009 and hopefully many years after that. Many poker players are blogging now, so why shouldn't I join in on all the fun. I figure this will be a good way for me to look back on progress and also help me improve my game. For those who actually decide to read this, I'll try to keep my posts about poker, but my life gets filled with drama and I supose I will eventually vent about that aswell. So I appologize in advance.

Anyways, on to what the year 2009 is going to mean to me.

There is always plans, and then there is always what ends up happening, which alot of times is alot different from what you originally planned. But lets not get into that just yet.

With the end of 2008 I've realized many of things. One of them being that I should of went back to school in september instead of me taking a year off. But on the brighter side, now I have more time than ever to focus on poker.

After reading some poker blogs and getting back into the cardschat forums, I realized that I wanted to play Online Poker for more than just a hobby. So, with that being said, I'm going to take my shot at playing poker for a living. Does this mean i'm going to quit my job? No. I am going to continue my part time love job to guarentee cash flow for bills such as car insurance/gas/movies and other luxuries that I normally enjoy. But since I only get 25hrs a week and mostly on weekends I have decided to get back into poker full time playing 8 hours a day.

Now, as far as Bankroll.....I have decided to invest $500.00 into my poker "career", because I've decided if I can't make it online with $500, then well...I just can't make it. So with that being said. I'm going to mainly start doing SnG's and MTT on Titan Poker. Also purchasing a HUD will allow me to post neat graphs for you guys to follow along with my progress. To be honest, the common goal here is to be profiting enough to live off of. So we'll see how it goes. Obviously at first with only $500 I don't expect this. But hopefully I will gain bank roll over the next few months to start considering that as a possibility.

I've decided to stay away from cash games until I've progressed my bankroll enough to play at $25 6-max tables comfortably. However if my SnG progress is overwhelming then why move at all? Anyways I'm sure you will hear more about that in the future.

So right now as it stands, the goals are mainly to play a minimum of 8 hours a day and to track all of my progress on Holdem Manager. We'll see if after the first week or two if I'm gaining any progress.

Also i'm going to try to post more on the cardschat forums as I believe this is a very valuble resourse to use.

If anyone is interested in networking a bit with fellow poker players you can always add me on msn as I am on 24hrs a day. My e-mail is regd87 and I'd be glad to chat poker with you.

Until next time....
